User involvement is crucial for a building’s success – because what value does a good building have if it doesn’t meet the users’ expectations?

Value creation in building projects and user involvement are closely connected. What use is a good building that has been delivered on time and within budget if the users’ underlying needs have not been understood and therefore not met? User involvement is a key to understanding users’ needs and is thus a crucial prerequisite for achieving high user satisfaction.

Although the purpose of user involvement may seem obvious, the process is often a source of frustration for both users and professionals.
